Melissa Price serves as a Senior Associate Director for the Children’s Hospital Foundation, the philanthropic division of Children's National in Washington, DC. In this role, Ms. Price manages key donor and international partner communications for the Foundation. Her primary focus is elevating the visibility and understanding, among key stakeholders, of The Sheikh Zayed Institute for Pediatric Surgical Innovation.

Ms. Price has 16 years of communications and public relations experience. 

Prior to joining Children’s National in 2013, Ms. Price worked as the Press Director for International Relief and Development, a non-profit humanitarian organization specializing in stabilization and economic development in conflict and post-conflict environments. At IRD, she was responsible for all press activities, including interviews, articles, and releases. She also managed media training for staff, speech writing, field communications programs, and social media activities for the organization.

Earlier in her career, she worked for the U.S. State Department Press Office, focusing on media relations for the U.S. Agency for International Development. She also served as Assistant Staff Secretary and Deputy Director of Presidential Writers at The White House, where she was responsible for managing the messages, writing style, grammar, and image for Presidential documents and photos. In addition, she served as  Strategic Communications Specialist for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, Publications Director and Special Projects Coordinator for the Republican National Committee and Assistant Director of Art and Technology and Account Assistant for Ron Sachs Communications in Tallahassee, FL.

She is a native of New Orleans and received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Communications from the Florida State University.  She also holds a Master of Business Administration, with a concentration in Strategic Management, from George Washington University.  

She enjoys traveling and is always looking for her next passport stamp. She currently lives in Alexandria, VA.
